Blues Alley: Arturo Sandoval
Friday, August 20 through Sunday, August 22 at 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. nightly, Blues Alley (1073 Wisconsin Avenue, NW) hosts Arturo Sandoval. A protégé of the legendary jazz master Dizzy Gillespie, Sandoval was born in Artemisa, a small town in the outskirts of Havana, Cuba, on November 6, 1949. He has evolved into one of the world's most acknowledged guardians of jazz trumpet and flugel horn, as well as a renowned classical artist, pianist and composer. Tickets. 202.337.4141
Georgetown Gallery Gaze The Georgetown Gallery Gaze puts the focus on Georgetown artists for all who are in search of even more than great retail and dining. This Friday, August 20 and every third Friday of the month, participating gallery owners open their doors with extended hours - 5 to 8 p.m., welcoming people with art, music, libations, and nibbles. All are invited to explore the festivities along the streets of Georgetown, enjoying, appreciating, and socializing with an array of artists. Details. |

There's still time to make reservations for Restaurant Week!
