Soon to be knocking on your door -- ANC candidates begin petition process
You're in a hurry to enter the grocery store. But some of those people with clipboards asking for your signature want to be your Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner. They’re asking for your support so they can, for no money, spend two years and vast amounts of time in meetings, conversation, and reading large documents about zoning, social service programs, health, police protection, sanitation, and recreation so that they can advise the District government about issues impacting you. Not surprisingly, there are not yet any competitive races for Georgetown ANC 2E commission seats.
Below are the candidates (also incumbents) who have picked up petitions.
- 2E01 ED SOLOMON
- 2E02 RON LEWIS
- 2E03 BILL SKELSEY
- 2E04 AARON L. GOLDS
- 2E05 BILL STARRELS
- 2E06 TOM BIRCH
- 2E07 CHARLES F. EASON, JR.
ANC candidates must get signatures of at least 25 duly registered voters who reside in the same Single Member District (SMD) as the candidate by September 3 in order to be on the November General Election ballot.
