With powerful storms continuing as hurricane season gets underway, Georgetown residents are urging neighbors to protect valuable computer equipment with surge protection equipment. Charles Stevenson, editor of Geotrees.com, advises neighbors to buy an "Uninterrupted Power Supply," or UPS. He says the device has saved hundreds of dollars worth of electronics a number of times. "I highly recommend them," Stevenson says. "As the scion of two illustrious lineages of Scottish engineers, I like to have lots of extra capacity - so buy soon, buy BASIC and buy BIG. I spent $150 to protect computer, peripherals, and VCRs out of one box - money very well spent."
