Face Time With Christina at Nectar
Five star spa esthetician with a celebrity following, Christina Finke from Eau Spa at the Ritz-Carlton, Palm Beach and Old Edwards Inn and Spa in Highlands, North Carolina is now here in Georgetown.
At Nectar Skin Bar for only a few months, Christina’s luxury facials are in high demand.
This northern California girl was busy raising a family until six years ago when she found her calling. “My passion is massage and skin care, especially anti-aging,” Christina explained.
Now calling D.C. home, she say, “I love Georgetown’s international feel.”
“Regardless of a client’s age, cleansing, exfoliation and hydration are key.” Delighted to find two of her favorite lines, Darphin and Caudalie were already offered at Nectar, she uses them regularly for her signature custom facials.
Like an artist working with a blank canvas, Christina enjoys every step of the process.
We started with in-depth interview discussing my current regimen and products.
“Dry and dehydrated,”my skin called for extra hydration. A double cleansing, then gommage (dry exfoliation), next a thorough cleaning of the pores (mine weren’t so bad) with warm steam and an extractor. Christina uses a special technique learned from a Russian esthetician, “dragging it along the t-zone forcing sebum into the extractor.”
Hydrating with serum and for me, a collagen mask (an extra $50 but well worth it because I was given to take home what was left over, about three weeks worth).
Next an arm and leg massage (remember to shave your legs) with a hydrating mask and even a special hand massage, moisture sealed in baggies. Nice!
Her personal attention, expert massage techniques and in-depth knowledge of how skin responds made my 75 minutes of face time with Christina something special.
