Our second weekly tip in honor of Wellness Week is about the importance of eating breakfast before going to work, school, or starting your day.
You may think that by just eating less you’ll have a better chance of losing weight. For most people this means that breakfast is on the chopping block (pun intended), but ditching the first meal of the day can actually contribute to weight gain, a higher risk of diabetes, and lack of energy. Unfortunately a bacon egg and cheese breakfast sandwich, or chocolate croissant won’t do the trick in the morning; a high-fiber food is needed to satisfy your hunger initially and keep you fuller longer. People who normally skip breakfast in the morning get hungry and pile on the snacks mid-day, leading to a lack of energy and focus.
High-fiber breakfasts lead to a faster metabolism, more energy, and less fatigue.
