The owner of this "fast-food" establishment has just once again displayed his arrogance and disrespect for the law. He deserves whatever penalties the District can impose, which, I would hope, would include being permanently ineligible for any DC issued license.

Anti-ANC Agreements

Maybe possibly before everyone is so quick to judge the owner of the establishment we should get more facts as to why the certificate of occupancy was revoked. One problem under the new DC Government is an overzealous enforcement of laws that were mostly overlooked for many years - and in many case need to be changed anyways. Before we put an owner of establishment on trial we should get all the facts.

The relevant fact is that an order revoking the certificate of occupancy was issued. No stay of the order was issued or sought. The order subsequently was disobeyed.

Vague references to "we should get all the facts", rests upon the almost magical feat of ignoring the fact of the order and it's violation. Whether an appeal would or would not amend or reverse the order is a separate issue. Pending that, the order is in place.

Unless, of course, "anonymous"urges that the subject of an order may independently nullify its validity.
