"What are tire tracks doing on this nordic trail?"

Birds are athletes, too. "I went outside in Frida’s garden to brush off the heavy snow from the trees. We lost several large branches from the snow’s weight. The birds started swooping and chirping around me. They were quite upset that I kept shaking the tree limbs and they all gathered close together to watch me," the photographer writes.

I love this photo which I sent to classmates labeled "Georgetown or Aspen?" Figured you get this newsletter/blog, but then thought "maybe not", so am sending on just to make sure you saw. I think it's a great photograph. xoxo
Great journalistic photography, Leslie. Hilton Head Island was under 1 1/2 inches of snow yesterday, but I was afraid to go out and photograph it! Love, Aunt June
